TPS designated for Haiti

On Behalf of | May 26, 2021 | Firm News |

On May 22, 2021, DHS Director Alejandro Mayorkas announced a nw Temporary Protected Status designation for Haiti.  This designation will protect all citizens and nationals of Haiti who can demonstrate that they have been physically present in the United States as of May 21, 2021, and meet all other requirements.  This TPS will protect all Haitians who have not been convicted of a felony or 2 or more misdemeanors, even if ordered deported from the United States.

I encourage all Haitians who meet these requirements to apply, even if they already have TPS from the previous designation issued after the earthquake in Haiti in 2010.  Please stay tuned for additional information regarding when we can start filing the applications, which I will post once the information is released by DHS.
